In light of recent news that broke last week that multiple local, community newspapers in Wyoming have shut their doors, SVI Media has launched SVIkemmerer.com. The website is focused on community news and events specifically for the towns of Kemmerer, Diamondville, Opal, LaBarge and all of southern Lincoln County.

The Kemmerer Gazette, the newspaper that had served the Kemmerer area for over 120 years, was part of the unexpected closure.

SVI Media, based out of Star Valley in northern Lincoln County, already has a presence in Kemmerer with the local radio station, KMER/KDWY The Spur, which carries local news, weather, events and live coverage of Kemmerer High School Sports. In addition SVI Media also posted news related to southern Lincoln County on a regular basis to its main news site, SVInews.com. This made for a seamless transition to begin a new website focused on the Kemmerer community to partially fill the void left by the closure of the Kemmerer Gazette.

The majority of local news content posted to SVIkemmerer.com will be written by reporters who live and work in Lincoln County. The website will also carry state, regional and national news headlines.

In addition to the website, SVI Media will also begin offering a Kemmerer/Diamondville section in each weekly edition of the Star Valley Independent. We hope to continue to grow, develop and improve this section over time.
