
The Star Valley Golf teams both qualified for the Wyoming 4A State tournament in Cheyenne next week as they placed in the top four of the 4A West Regional Qualifier at the Purple Sage Golf Course in Evanston. Daltyn DeCora, Kate Ricks and Amelia Green earned All-Conference honors by placing in the top ten.
The Evanston girls carded the best score with a 549 to pace the 4A girls, as they were 21 strokes in front of Kelly Walsh. Riverton was third with a score of 600 and Star Valley nabbed the last spot with a 608. Jackson was fifth with a 626.
The Braves also qualified with a fourth place team score as they finished with a final tally of 682. Kelly Walsh led the boys team race with a 633. Evanston was second with a 657 and Natrona was third with a 665. Riverton was on the outside looking in with a 700 in fifth.
Last year the Braves had three individual qualifiers for State but did not qualify as a team. State Golf will take place September 19-20 in Cheyenne.
