Star Valley’s chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation is hosting their annual fundraiser banquet on Saturday, May 30 in the Donn Wooden Civic Center at 121 US Highway 89 in Alpine. Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner and activities throughout the evening.
Cindy Gray-Christensen, who serves as the Volunteer Chair for the Wyoming RMEF explained that the organization is “founded by hunters who raise money to continue the mission of conserving lands and wildlife. The event is going to be a ton of fun!”
Dinner for the evening features prime rib with all the trimmings and family beverages catered by Southern Hospitality. Adult beverages will be available for purchase. Activities include games for the entire family, a live auction, a silent auction and a raffle.
High interest auction items include an American flag that will be flown over the US Capitol building in Washington DC and then shipped to the winning bidder. “It’s really a cool thing,” said Gray-Christensen. “You can choose the day that you want your flag to fly over the capitol building. It will fly that day and then they will send it back to you. Kind of a unique thing that’s donated by Senator [John] Barrasso in his support of the organization.”
Additional auction and raffle items include a gun safe, Yeti coolers, fine art and sculptures, hunting gear, hiking gear, outdoor gear, outer wear, jewelry, scopes, tools and plenty of firearms. “Pretty much, stuff for everybody, from the kitchen to the garage to the camper,” said Gray-Christensen.
Though space is limited, some space and full tables that seat eight people are still available, with some tables including a firearm with the purchase. Pre-order is the best way to ensure entry. To purchase tables or tickets, please visit https://tickets.rmef.org/s/
“It’s just a really great evening for like-minded folks to get together and raise some money for a super great cause,” said Gray-Christensen.
