• Community bike trail system not funded

The Thayne Town Council approved water system improvements at their July 15 meeting. The council approved  a $27,721 project that will include the construction of the Thayne East Boost Station Back Up Generator by WS Construction.

In other news related to the town:

• The council received word  on the proposed Thayne community bike trails system on state land east of the community. The council learned that  funding was not approved from the state’s Outdoor Recreation program due to existing lease agreements at the site. The project will move to the State Lands and Investments Board for further consideration.

• Existing water easements will be used for fiber installation in the community. The work will be coordinated with Silver Star Communications.

• The sidewalk along Hokanson will be completed with a grant program.

• A business license fee was waved for Miss M’s to allow a children’s business to sell cookies, cakes and lemonade at the Thayne Community Center.

Thayne Recreation

Registration is open for flag football and girls volleyball.

Work will be stared on a new community sand volleyball pit.

Tackle football will include a conclusion review by Dr. Devin Simpson, similar to a physical therapy reviews offered for community sports.

Independence Day

The majority of the Thayne 250th Celebration Coins have been distributed as part of the Independence Day celebration.

The 2026 Independence Day celebration was acknowledged for drawing the largest crowds in the community’s history.
