Former Stanford standout and Los Angeles Laker, Mark Madsen, will be the new head coach of the Utah Valley University Wolverines.
UVU announced that Madsen will replace outgoing coach Mark Pope who recently accepted the head coaching job at Brigham Young University.
Madsen has served as a Lakers assistant since 2013 and won a pair of NBA championships with the team as a player in 2001 and 2002.
Overall, Madsen played nine seasons in the NBA with Los Angeles and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
