Founder and President of TriSight, Brad Burnham, sat down with SVI to discuss different uses for coal, along with timelines to get up and running in Lincoln County.

He says they formed the company for the community here. He says he got together with a group of people to find alternate uses for coal. Through research, the president says they have identified three different technologies they will bring to “process coal”.

“And get products like soil care, skin care, body care,” Burnham said. “Products people are not accustomed to from coal.”

He says he knows many people have a view of coal as a bad thing.

“We love coal,” Burnham said. “I mean I probably have an unhealthy relationship in my love of coal.”

The TriSight founder comes from Silicon Valley and says he came here blind. He says he quickly learned what coal really is.

“A gift from the earth to mankind,” Burnham said. “Then to find you can get these amazing minerals, nutrients, organic compounds out of coal without burning it and without polluting the air.”

He says the first step will be what is called “coal to organics.” He says these are products that are made by the earth. He says the technology they use will not burn coal, but allows minerals, elements, and compounds to be released and with zero emissions.

“Through those organics, we can make humic and fulvic acid,” Burnham said. “We can do a pure fulvic acid which is liquid gold in the skincare world.”

He says this will give opportunities to improve the soil of the earth and humans. He also says, right now, they have an operating plant in Byron, Wyoming. He says they are in the process of “reconfiguring the technology” for Kemmerer’s coal right now. He says there is a good chance they will be up and running in South Lincoln County next year.

He says once it is up and running in Kemmerer, all the processing will be there and the primary hub will be there as well.
