• GoFundMe supports K9 Design after business catches fire.
Community members are stepping up to help the owner of a local business after an unexpected fire destroyed the Etna based business. Classic K9 Design posted to their social media page that a heater in their mobile dog grooming trailer caught fire. The trailer was a total loss.
“I will rebuild and I am working on a solution to keep me working until I can get back out on the road again,” said owner Denise Defour on the Classic K9 Design Facebook page. “I would appreciate any help I can get. I am my only income. All of my tools are also gone.”
A GoFundMe page was set up for donations by Melissa Morbee, another dog groomer in the area. “Denise from Classic K9 Design, had a horrible misfortune today,” said Morbee on the GoFundMe page. “Her trailer, which she uses for her business, is her only income. The tools, equipment and the trailer caught fire and it’s a total loss!”
Anyone who would like to make a donation can do so by visiting GoFundMe.com and searching for “Local Mobile Dog Groomer Needs Your Help.” As of Tuesday morning, $6,355 had been raised on GoFundMe. Donations can also be made via Venmo to @classic-k9.
“We have a wonderful group of groomers in my area,” said Defour. “They have reached out to loan me clippers, blades, shears, brushes, a table and a dryer. So proud to call them my friends!”
