Star Valley’s Case & Ryder Kerr brought home buckles after a Top 10 finish in Team Roping at the 2024 National High School Finals Rodeo. The finals were held at the Sweetwater Events Complex in Rock Springs July 14-20.
Their first run was on Tuesday evening when they finished with a time of 10.52. They improved that time on Thursday with a 9.47. The two times were good enough to qualify the twin brothers for the short go (Top 20) on Saturday, entering the round sitting in 15th place. The Kerr’s had their best time of the week in the Short Go with a 7.05, putting them in 4th place in the round and 6th overall out of 180 teams from around the world.
The Kerr’s, from Fairview, competed with Team Idaho, having qualified for nationals during the Idaho State Finals in June. Because of travel distances, high school rodeo athletes from Lincoln County participate in the Idaho District 8.
