◆ Contest designed to make memories.
Heating Services of Star Valley is holding a Christmas lighting contest in the community with an opportunity for everyone to win prizes.
Jake and Danielle Sample are the owners of the com- pany and had a desire to put on this event to make some memories for their families. Jake says one year they were driving around and didn’t feel like they were see- ing a lot of lights.
“We were like ‘How can we inspire people to want to decorate their houses more’,” Jake said. “Christmas light were kind of a memories of ours as kids and we wanted to give that to our kids.”
They held the competition last year for the first time.
There were some prizes that went along with that, and it had a great response. So, this year they decided to do it again and one of the big prizes is a Jotul outdoor wood fire pit from Heating Services of Star Valley.
The couple also says they have teamed with other businesses to sponsor other prizes as well. Outlaw T’s is giving out a $250 gift basket and Wild Wyoming Outfitters is handing out a $100 gift card to their store as well.
“Mountain Music is giving away a ukulele this year.” Danielle says this is all based on different categories. “We’re (Heating Services of Star Valley) going to give away the grand prize,” Danielle said. “Outlaw T’s has most Wyoming. Wild Wyoming Outfitters is going to do the most liked on Facebook. So, get on and vote for that.”
She also says Mountain Music is giving away the prize for the most musical display of lights and AV Fa- natics will award the most creative.
She says to enter you get on the Facebook page and post a picture along with your address. You can find that here (https://www.facebook.com/groups/christmascontest/?mibextid=6NoCDW). She says the dead- line to enter is December 18th at midnight.
Jake says last year was difficult as many people put a lot of effort into the contest. So, they are looking for people to add comments and interact with those participating.
