Jackson Hole native announces campaign for Teton County commissioner; wants to give voice to working families

Peter Long
 Dear Chamber Members,

I am writing to personally share that I’m running for Teton County Commissioner—to represent you, our business leaders and community, and the hard-working families who are struggling to continue to call Jackson Hole home.

These are difficult times. Many of you have been directly affected by the impacts COVID-19. We all know friends, neighbors and family members who have lost jobs or had hours reduced, and who are worried about how they will pay their rent or mortgage, put groceries on the table and pay for health care. As a small business owner, husband and father, I share many of these same concerns.

That’s why I’m running—to help get our businesses open again and our workers back into jobs by alleviating self-imposed burdens, building consensus around smart ideas and putting our community’s needs first. We have a chance to build a stronger, more vibrant community that creates opportunity for our small businesses and our hard-working men, women and families.

As your Commissioner, I will work to strengthen partnerships with you, our business community. I will work to zone more working-class neighborhoods that provide affordable housing and rental options. And I will work on real transportation solutions that make our roads safer and more efficient.

I’m proud to have the support of County Commissioner and long-time business owner Mark Barron. “Peter is smart, energetic and deeply committed. His roots in the valley combined with his ability to confront the big issues are exactly what we need to get results.”

I want to hear from you—to learn more about your needs, to discuss the challenges and opportunities ahead and to share more about the vision I hope to bring to the Board of Commissioners.

Please contact me at peter@longfortetoncounty.com and visit www.LongforTetonCounty.com. And join us as we take on the tough issues to create a community that works for our businesses and men, women and families who make this community extraordinary.

Best Regards,

Peter Long
