Lincoln County small businesses can apply for variance to open amid COVID-19 struggles

Lincoln County Commissioner Jerry Harmon

Many small businesses in Western Wyoming have been hit particularly hard by restrictions imposed by the closure orders due to COVID-19. Governor Mark Gordon issued the first set of closures on March 13  which then expanded and have shut down businesses such as hair salons, barber shops, restaurants and others.

Now nearly six weeks into the shutdown there appears to be a bit of light at the end of the tunnel as statewide officials are allowing each county to make exceptions in the form of a variance. Lincoln County Commissioner Jerry Harmon spoke with Duke Dance as part of the Weekday Wakeup on Monday April 27 and encouraged small businesses to apply for this variance immediately so that they may be able to resume  more typical business while still adhering to the CDC guidelines for the virus.
