More snow and wind expected as Winter Storm Watch starts Tuesday night

Valley residents dug out of a series of windy snowstorms over the weekend only to find themselves in a frigid wake of arctic air that left thermometers spitting out temperatures between -15 and -22 based on various reports Monday night.

The winter of 2024 started off slow but it now in full western Wyoming mode with another Winter Storm Watch slated to begin Tuesday night and extend through Thursday. During that time, a potential 8-14 inches of snow could fall on the valley floor.  The most intense portion of the storm looks to be Wednesday evening with 3-5 inches possible accompanied by steady winds of 15-20 mph and gusts as high as 31 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures should increase steadily throughout the rest of the week with the potential of highs in the 30’s on the weekend.
