• Snowmobiler unconscious after going over cliff.

Star Valley Search & Rescue responded to the North Fork of Willow Creek, in the bowls area of McDougal Gap in the Bridger-Teton National Forest on Wednesday, Mar. 27.

The emergency response involved a snowmobiler that had gone over a cliff and was knocked unconscious.

Commander Matt McMurdo reported after the rider woke up from the accident he had no recollection of the day.

The rider’s snowmobiling party transported him to main  Willow Creek Trail where  they started a warming fire.

S&R responded to that site with a snow-ambulance and transported the injured rider to a waiting ambulance at the Willow Creek Trailhead.

McMurdo advised the rider “is very lucky to be alive” following the incident.
