Wyoming Army National Guard recognizes outstanding members

Members of the Wyoming National Guard were recognized for their outstanding service during 2018 at the Outstanding Solider and Airman of the Year banquet, Jan. 12.

The following individuals were recognized for their leadership, military bearing, knowledge of military customs, community service and personal achievements. The members reside in Cheyenne, unless otherwise noted.

Airman Jessica Bunch, 153rd Security Forces Squadron, Airman of the Year, is from Laramie, Wyoming.

Staff Sgt. Kathryn Goldman, 153rd Command and Control Squadron, Air Noncommissioned Officer of the Year.

Master Sgt. Tiffany Sinner, 153rd Airlift Wing, First Sergeant of the Year.

Master Sgt. Heidi Valdez, 153rd Force Support Squadron, Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year.

Capt. Stacy Nation, Wyoming Army National Guard Medical Detachment, Army Company Grade Officer of the Year, is from Golden, Colorado.

Capt. Sheila Sells, 153rd Force Support Squadron, Air Company Grade Officer of the Year.

Chief Warrant Officer 2 Paul Beuttner, G Company, 2nd Battalion, 112th Aviation Regiment, was named Warrant Officer of the Year.

Tech. Sgt. Kelly Cooper, 153rd Logistic Readiness Squadron, Rising Six Performer of the Year.

Master Sgt. Tanya Robison, 153rd Command and Control Squadron, Unit Career Advisor of the Year.

Tech. Sgt. Mike Palmer, 153rd Force Support Squadron, received the Top Accessions of the Year Award for the Wyoming Air National Guard.

Tech. Sgt. Jocelyn Dettman, 153rd Force Support Squadron, was named Rookie Production Recruiter and Retainer of the Year for the Wyoming Air National Guard.

Sgt. 1st Class Todd Crawford, Wyoming Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion, was named Region 6 Recruiter of the Year for the Wyoming Army National Guard.

Sgt. 1st Class Shawn Songy, Wyoming Recruiting and Retention Battalion, was chosen as Army Recruiting’s Automation NCO of the Year.

Master Sgt. Edmundo Herrera, Sgt. 1st Class Todd Crawford. Sgt. 1st Class Kerry Wyatt, Sgt. Juan Cardenas, and Sgt. Mike Davis, all of the Wyoming Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion, were recognized as Third Quarter National Guard Bureau Team Challenge winners.

Master Sgt. Jennifer Ballenger, 153rd Mission Support Group, was named as the Flag Heritage Team Member of the Year. This award is a symbol of the extreme amount of volunteerism and underlying commitment a Flag Team member must possess.

The Chiefs Council Core Value Award recognizes the junior enlisted members of the Wyoming Air National Guard who best represent the Air Force/Air National Guard Core Values. The following individuals were named as Chiefs Council Core Value and Award recipients:

From the 153rd Airlift Wing, Staff Sgts. Sherry Eckhardt and Olivia Patenaude, from Wellington, Colorado; Senior Airman Adam Sigrist, 153rd Medical Group, from Denver, Colorado; Tech. Sgt. Clyde Weisbeck, 153rd Maintenance Group; from the 153rd Maintenance Squadron Tech. Sgt. Daniel Banner, from Wellington, Colorado, and Airman 1st Class David Jimenez; Airman 1st Class Levi Kaiser, 153rd Logistics Readiness Squadron, from Casper, Wyoming; from the 153rd Command and Control Squadron, Tech. Sgts. Brian Nafzinger and Kenneth Waszkiewicz; Tech. Sgt. Collin Kosiba, 187th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron; Senior Airman Elizabeth Moore, 153rd Force Support Squadron, from Douglas, Wyoming; Tech. Sgt. Payton Barnes, 153rd Civil Engineering Squadron, from Boulder, Colorado; Staff Sgt. Jeremy Kern, 153rd Security Forces Squadron, from Littleton, Colorado; Tech. Sgt. Michael Palmer, 153rd Force Support Squadron; and Tech. Sgt. Logan Landgraf, 153rd Communication Flight.
