The City of Kemmerer is gearing up for its annual Golden Rule Day, a beloved tradition that celebrates community spirit and service. Scheduled for August 28, the festivities will kick off at 4:00 p.m., featuring a picnic and historic tour of J.C. Penney locations led by expert David Kruger, who has written a book on the topic. This is a unique opportunity for attendees to learn something new each year.
The evening will culminate in a community dinner served by the City of Kemmerer and Town of Diamondville’s Mayor and Council along with Lincoln County Commissioners. Brian Muir, Kemmerer City Administrator, emphasizes the importance of community participation: “It’s a great occasion for our community, and we appreciate the support people have.”
As part of the celebration, nominations are still open for the prestigious Golden Rule Award, recognizing individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the community. Nominations must be submitted by August 22 to Kaylynn Williams at kwilliams@kemmerer.org.
With a focus on honoring those who embody the spirit of service, Golden Rule Day promises to be an event filled with camaraderie and recognition of local heroes.
