Braves pound the Devils in 42-14 road win

Scoring three times in the first quarter, the Braves collected a relatively easy road win in Evanston on Wednesday evening behind big games from quarterback Brant Nelson and running back Lane Oesch.

The Braves won back-to-back games for the first time this season in a 42-14 win over the Devils to improve to (3-5)(2-2) on the season.

Nelson threw for over 200 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another while Oesch rushed for 175 yards and a pair of scores. Nelson became the school’s all-time leader in career passing yardage and passing touchdowns.

Tristan Kleeman caught a pair of those touchdowns and Kort Hilton caught the other.

Star Valley is now off until October 24 when they host the Green River Wolves in what is likely a must-win scenario to earn a trip to the post-season.

After squeaking out a tight opening set win over the visiting Jackson Lady Broncs, Star Valley rolled to a sweep to win the team’s 13th match of the season (13-6-1)(3-2). The team honored a pair of seniors in McKenna Brog and Addie Jenkins while also putting together a fundraiser for the Ginger Thompson family who is dealing with the aftermath of cancer treatments.

The Lady Braves wrap up the regular season in Green River on October 24.
