Highway 89 road work begins Tuesday over South End

The Wyoming Department of Transpiration has begun a road improvement project on Highway 89 south of Star Valley. The surfacing project will take place between mileposts 65 and 72, which is the Salt Pass area, also know as the South End.

Stephanie Harsha, Public Relations Specialist for WYDOT, said crews will be milling, paving and then doing a chip seal. The milling operation is scheduled from June 12-26. Paving will tentatively begin June 23 and will be competed by July 19, weather permitting. The chip seal is scheduled for August 15-18.

Harsha said drivers are advised to expect delays of up to 20 minutes. Traffic will be carried through all work areas at reduced speeds on a single lane using flaggers and pilot cars.
