Livestock board issues reminder: brands up for renewal

This week the Wyoming Livestock Board is issuing a reminder about brand renewals in the state.

“All Wyoming Brands due in the 2019 brand renewal period are now considered expired and will enter a grace period for renewal,” said Renae Krakow, executive assistant for the Wyoming Livestock Board. “A second notice will be sent to all persons who did not get their brands renewed in the 60 days preceding the expiration date of your brand.  You will have until March 1, 2019 to renew your Wyoming Livestock Brand.”

According to information provided by the Wyoming Livestock Board, any brands that were due for renewal in 2019 will be considered delinquent after March 1, 2019. A delinquent fee will be added to the current renewal fee on any brands renewed from March 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2019.

“Brands that need renewed from Jan. 1, 2019 to March 1, 2019 must be renewed prior to changing any legal recordings on the brands,” said Krakow.

The Wyoming Livestock Board website has a  list of brand owners who currently need to renew. There is also a list of those brand notices that were returned to the office as non-deliverable via the post office.

“If you see someone you know on that list, please contact your local [brand] inspector or our office at 307-777-7515,” Krakow said.
