Lowest power rates in the nation, elections held for LVE board of directors

◆ Annual meeting held June 29 in Jackson.

Lower Valley Energy is maintaining the lowest residential rates in the nation at 5.6 cents a kWh.

That was the report from CEO Jim Webb at the co-op’s annual meeting in Jackson Thursday, June 29.

Lower Valley Energy serves Star Valley, Jackson, Boundurant and Swan Valley with electric power. Natural gas services include Jackson and Afton with plans to expand in Star Valley.

A pipeline for Star Valley is in the process of being permitted from Opal/Montpelier that will serve Star Valley.

Elections for the Lower Valley Energy Board of Directors in three LVE districts were also held in June and announced on Thursday.

In District 1, Dan Dockstader was elected with 2011 votes, in District 2 Max Moran was elected with 953 votes, and in District 7 Ray Elser was elected with 2,066 votes.
