Mountain View has trees to adopt to light up for holiday season

The town of Mountain View says it has trees available to adopt in the town’s park in anticipation of the holiday season.

Deputy Clerk Mandy Fraughton says it costs $40 for the year and you can purchase that at town hall. Once you adopt a tree you will be responsible to light up that tree for the holidays.

“We do require that those trees are lit up by mini LED lights that are purchased in the town,” Fraughton said. “That’s probably the most expensive part of the initial cost.”

She says they also have signage that can be built and designed by The Printed Word in Lyman. There will be a big lighting event the day after Thanksgiving.

“We have a celebration in the park at 6 PM,” Fraughton said. “There will be hot chocolate and treats.”

She says despite it being almost a month away they are trying to prepare for that.
