Star Valley Girls and Jackson Boys take ‘Shootout’ team titles

Day Two of the Snake River Shootout wrapped up Thursday, August 11 as teams made their way to Teton County to play the Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis Club. The Lady Braves had the best two-day total stemming off their team score of 270 in Wednesday as they shot a 323 in Jackson, the second-best total behind the Evanston Red Devils who had a 306. Overall the Lady Braves finished with a total of 593 to the Devils’ 608.

Jackson’s Gracen Rosenberg won the individual two-day contest with a combined score of 182. Evanston’s Hadley Blackwell was second with a 186 and Star Valley’s Jackie Simmons was third with a 190. Evanston’s Hailee Ridneour had the best score in Jackson with a 93.

Star Valley got a total of 201 from Jordyn Horsley and a 203 from Taylor Anderson. Norrah Nielsen was close behind with a 207.

Riverton’s Parker Paxton continued the line of success he has enjoyed as he took the two-day total of 137 but he was challenged by Jackson’s Mason Evans who also had a terrific week with a 141. The Broncs’ Hayes Millham was third with a 149 while Star Valley’s PJ Horsley finished with a 149. The Braves also got a top-ten finish from Brigham Ordyna who carded a 168.

As a team, the Broncs had the top score at both venues, finishing with a 623. Riverton was second with a 645 and Star Valley was third with a 667.

Star Valley High School will play host on two different courses next week as they host the SVHS Invite on Thursday August 18 in Afton at Star Valley View and then at Cedar Creek Golf Course in Star Valley Ranch on Friday August 19.
